1. Association Successfully Held 14th international Friction and Sealing Materials Technology Exchange and Production Exhibition
The secretary-general of China Building Materials Association, Mr. Zhang Dongzhuang; the president of American Friction Materials Standards Institutes, Mr. Patrick, Healy; the director of State-owned Asserts Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, Mr. Liang Fang; the president of China Friction and Sealing Materials Association, Mr. Wang Yao and other guests attended in the opening ceremony. During the exhibition, product exchanges and technology conference was simultaneously processed. At same time, it set up personnel recommended display boards to publish related materials about Xianyang Normal University and some of cover letters from college students who are friction major.
2. The Issue Research about Friction Materials Industry Access by Ministry of Industry and Information Technology
In order to suppress friction material industry overcapacity, put an end of low-level redundant construction, and promote the transformation in industry from transform upgrading to the quality-benefit. According to Council resolution in 2012, the association strengthened contact with and report to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The Ministry of Industry and Raw Materials Division took task for the association on Oct.8th, 2012, they entrusted the association to research industry access conditions of friction material, and they planned to complete the entire access work before the end of 2013.

The Central South University, Zhejiang Guotai Company and Shandong Shuanglian Company got the annual building materials science and technology awards in 2011, the Central South University got the first prize in science and technological progress, and Zhejiang Guotai Company and Shandong Shuanglian Company got the second prizes in science and technological progress.

5. Promoting the Work Process of Non-asbestos Friction Sealing Material Industry
The problem of investigation and treat asbestos-containing brake pads by the General Administration of Quality Supervision; researched the solutions of friction material without asbestos; negotiated with the relevant departments of Ministry of Industry, General Administration of Quality Supervision and National Standard Committee. Then, the association leaderships went to companies to study and research, held the forum to guide industry transfer to non-asbestos. The association held a professional and technical friction material training, and the main content is research on product technological non-asbestos. The association held a sealing material seminar, aimed at solve problem of sealing gaskets contain asbestos punishment.
